facthunter
When even the weeds die. Last to go and first to come back. You can make a small fortune farming if you start with a big one. Bit like an Airline.. Nev
old man emu
There's a lot a road construction going on is southwest Sydney - all to do with the new Western Sydney airport. Part of that is the creation of massive stockpiles of soil that has been removed from where the road substructure has to be made. What amazes me is the profusion of Datura stomonium (thornapple, false castor oil plant, devil's trumpet) that has grown in these stockpiles. The amazement is caused by the fact that there is no Datura growing in the paddocks the soil has been claimed from. Old Koreelah
Perhaps the seeds germinate best in disturbed soil. My dad worked tirelessly to rid our farm of noxious weeds like this, but council roadworks always brought more.
