  1. The problem OME is just what the video shows.....you can just be at the wrong place at the wrong time
  2. yes I agree there should be more shock videos in prime time like this to try to wakeup some of the idiots on the road. But the do gooders will be up in arms
  3. A friend just sent me this youtube link it is pretty graphic and will make you jump in your seat and cringe and feel queasy in the guts. It shows you that through no fault of your own you can be involved in a major accident. This is one of the things when I drive up the Bruce Highway the 300km to to my farm that scares the hell out of me and we have had some very close calls just like some of these clips. Take care and treat everyone else on the road as a idiot and try to stay out of their way
  4. Zibi you maybe right....I don't think the toilet seat with built in warmer was a successful idea but they did sell quite a lot worldwide...The young ones today as you know all love the wizz bang flashy crap and musicolour trendy stuff they live with and for their smartphones...the gimmick stuff usually makes money. even if you only get .5 % of the smartphone eligible youngness...that is still a huge market
  5. Zibi The idea is based on a APP..as stated before in this thread....they have used the app idea and combined it with some hardware and some nice protocol via the wifi.....I think these guys will sell a motza of them.....a lot of good money making ideas are just a reinvention or update of the original wheel...you just have to find the right type of wheel
  6. Take look at this video watch the whole thing This a idea that will make these guys millions...mind you he has that already. The Kickstart website is a website that you float your ideas on and people pledge money to support it to get it up and going and usually you get something that the idea is as a product when it is finished. You will see the money the guys wanted was $100,000 to get started but got so many subscribers they had to close it off at 1.3 MILLION......13 times over subscribed...and it a couple of aussies out of melbourne doing it Mark
  7. yes but at least you have a internet connection out there in the boonies so it cant be too bad
  8. Well I am not sure that quote is strictly true Mark11 I have been self employed for some 25 years and I have never been "rolling" in it. There are lots of advantages that allow you to do more than the normal wage earner for sure. Yes there are some guys who manage the rolling in it but if you really look at the numbers they are probably the 5% of businesses. Most are comfortable and have some spare money to allow the occasional splurge and indulgance but please remember most business owners work around 60 to 80 hrs a week so put that into your wages calculator and you will probably be where most business owners are. Drive and motivation keep small businesses open and without it they die. My advice is yes do it but you must find something you are very good at or love to do as working such long hours you have to have that drive. Small business drives the country it also has the most tax paid from them to run the country the definition of a small business from memory is turnover of 5 million a year. You also need a very understanding wife because working those long hours affects the home life and I will bet that most business owner/workers have had at least more than 1 wife because they can be neglected...also dont employ your wife as you never get away from work and many arguments can ensue from this close relationship there needs to be a separation or home life and work otherwise it can lead to some very large withdrawls of your bank balance and you maybe out renting the place your living in I built and own my own aircraft but it has taken a long time to get to this position as most of all my profits had been turned back into the business to either just keep it running during the hard times or to grow it when needed. At one stage I had 8 employees for many years and turned over in excess of 2 million a year...during that time I had hardly any money of my own. I have been running my business as the only employee now for the last 8 years and now actually make some money but the long hours still continue but the costs are way down that is the difference. Especially now this past 6 months business is very poor on sales but still good on the service side so this keeps the doors open but still have to be frugal to remain viable...this comes with experience on how to do this. If you want something bad enough...make a plan and throughly research what you want to do and look objectively at it....then try to get some money together as a base maybe $10,000 as you can not start a business without a base otherwise it will fall over. I hope this helps but the main thing is to be able to work for yourself and live a comfortable life for the large amount of hours and sweat for something you love to do then it will be successful
  9. Paralympics start 29th of August....I will be watching
  10. The closing ceremony concert was outstanding and I really loved it all especially seeing Eric idle that was just fantastic and the whole stadium were singing along I can't wait for the paralympics...ABC is having it...I reckon those athletes are the best to watch...they are fantastic athletes yet they have huge physical and mental problems to overcome and they are almost as fast as the able bodied athletes. I am just in awe of them Mark
  11. The actual rate was .33% on every money transaction it would collect about 3 times the amount that income tax and GST collect...the reason wasn't One Nation it would make the tax dept and the many tens of thousands of bl****rs....sorry... workers there redundant with no job as 90% of all transactions would be collected by the money institutions. Basically its like a get but only when you transfer money from one place or business to another
