  1. MartyD "The world has changed. There are no longer masses of unskilled jobs available. Who wants 300 people with shovels and pick-axes making roads when excavators and bulldozers do it far quicker and without workplace injuries?" Marty that's maybe what we do need to do....get the dole bludgers onto the shovel and picks and build more infrastructure....and this may give them the incentive to actually get some training and find another job. Work for the dole is must in my view and also it MUST be policed properly not like before when it was running..it was a joke then
  2. I have a different view. There are way too many bludgers on the system and half of my wife's relations are just that. I think we need to bring in a food stamps style of system BUT you still need to give them some monetary pension say $30.00 each so they have some sort of money. There MUST be housing for these people on the benefits system and this has to be subsidized on the utility side somehow but they use their stamp system to pay for those utilities. There MUST be training available to help people back into he workforce or some type of "work for the dole" scheme that if the person is doing or has done this for the required amount of time they get priority over someone who hasn't to be inline for jobs. This is not a easy issue at all and there would need to be a lot of work done on this to implement something...not necessarily as above but something like it. We need to give people and incentive to go out and find a job so you do need some system that pricks them in the bum to make them get off it yet does NOT disadvantage many people as there are always the exception to the rule. As far as this carers thing and medical pensions I think they must be more severely scrutinized as they are not now...I know at last 40 people who are on the dole or sickness benefits or carers pensions and maybe 2 of them have a valid reason...its not right as they know how to rort the system Mark
  3. Palmer is unstable and has a god complex
  4. Sorry should have qualified that statement…90% of the 50% of the population that are above the age of 40
  5. Who said criminals would be badly treated..thats not a good start on the way to trying to make a reasonable person out of a bad one. I am not a do gooder but think I am pretty stable and have a vision for what would be good for the country and 99% of the population. The problem with our society is that the governments are trying to legislate for the lowest common denominator…when in real terms the lowest common denominator is probably only around 5 to 10% of the population. The rest of us generally are level headed and have that rare commodity called "common sense". The governments over the last 40 years have been trying to stop common sense they do it in our education system and in their legislative actions they also are taking away the other rare thing and that is called being responsible for your own actions. The younger generation now has been the victim of this dumbing down and with this they have no respect for older people and their values or dare I say the police or the law….the government is a victim of their own actions
  6. Vote for me a benevolent dictator. I would sort a few things out The problem with a democracy is that it rarely works because 51% are happy with the decisions and 49% are cranky about it. One boss and the rest followers works better usually…now don't start on the Hitler crap and all those other looneys the word "benevolent" is the key here….although absolute power usually corrupts absolutely over time…Bjelke Joh is a good example..he did great things for this state because he ran it like a dictator…but after 23 years he became filled with his own delusions of grander and thought he could do anything he wanted So give me a couple of years in the job and I would clean a lot of things up. The do gooders wouldn't like me though problem is more jails would need to be built…then again that brings up more employment I suppose. Waiting for the flames to appear

  10. Well thats the problem Dazza they don't...80% of the population cant think for themselves and are really sheep just following what their parents or friends say....not many people now think for themselves...the govt and all governments are to blame be it labour or liberal. They have been legislating in a way that makes everyone NOT responsible for their own actions because it is always someone elses fault and the scumbag ambulance chasers have taken this and run with it. A good example is if I was walking down the footpath and tripped over a lump in the ground it would be my own stupid fault for not looking where I was walking...but no now I can sue the council because it was all their fault that that lump in the ground appeared...all this crap really pisses me off.

  15. well those aussies obviously didn't have the teething rusks in their mouth covered in vegemite when they were babies......fooling someone with marmite is NOT possible for a genuine vegemiter I am a big Dick Smith fan and buy most of his fantastic aussie supported products. I did buy the ozziemite.........sorry vegemite is still in the fridge...the ozziemite is terrible...tastes mostly like marmite...and I have been back to the old motherland a few time and tried the marmite there and it is NOT the same.
  16. Well the banks royally screw us over. Most of their borrowings come from overseas...they even say so.."the cost of borrowing money" they say is so high. Well look at the interest rates in the USA half a percent isnt it...same as the rest of the world...what are they charging us?...some pretty simple maths can tell you. We are just getting screwed totally by them thats why they make billions of dollars every 6 months
  17. Dont worry I spent 6 months solid trying to find a hangar here at Ycab and basically stumbled on mine just by asking the right question from the right person at the right time ...I was so lucky my other options were Kilcoy or Gympie and both are at least an hours drive Watts was considered as well but an hour and a half from here as well so I count my blessings with my hangar I can tell you
  18. Brisvegas has a nice ring to it I think....for a name anyway
  19. HH I hate the Gold Coast too crowded and too fake we always used to go to the sunshine coast...now it has been wrecked and over populated and overbuilt by all the southerners. Further up the state it is still pretty good except for most of the towns being taken over by mining money so they are on the road to rack and ruin too.
  20. Yes Scott I usually get up about dawn and head off luckily I am 5 mins from the airfield. It was pretty lumpy coming back from Kilcoy on sunday about noon. Today was beautiful I should have gone flying early but this last 2 days before I knock off from holidays is busy so couldnt afford a few hours off. I hope the weather stays good after friday for a few days at least
