One problem, l'm getting indecision again. They say keep emotion out of business decisions but whenever l come back here for a bit especially if l do any work on it, l start falling inlove with it again- damn it. ld bloody know. lt's just such a nice block and spot , you even start enjoying just being in the quiet tiny town - that depresses me at first , it comes and goes , but then you start to see people just doing their thing out here peacefully going about their life. Often relate it to the rest of the world going so crazy these days but then there's this place. Forget it all. But then financially to, it'd just be so much bloody easier l'd be set just stayng put and just extend, which l can cover myself. Living scott free no bills peaceful and in a lovely spot. l can hardly even afford something better either but staying l'd be set. Damn it. lt's just the long term thing though, practicality. But then people do that all the time, even on huge farms. Gonna be harder later, especially the driving, and there's no services for miles, ldbloody know. Plenty of older people here, spose they're mostly married and stuff though too, family, l'm not any more though so alone makes later a bit harder l guess to.

Haaaa, isn't that typical eh. You try make it look nice but then they go change it anyway.lt's like damned if you do or don't. l love the cedar myself it's my fav. This is only a cabin mind you not some big house but it was cedar 15yrs but when the last guy moved off l had the brainstorm to paint it grey, hate it. Just thought a buyer might prefer as greys so trendy atm it but they'll prob come along and paint it bloody cedar ha ha. But yeah, went to look at a block last week they had a really nice gateway, thinking of maybe doing that just to make it look nicer and so more tempting, fair bit of work though and a few bucks. Well that blocks been up for sale over 12mths, block up the road here had an old wire gate falling off and sold in 3wks sooooo, damned if l know. This areas normally hard to sell blocks alone and there's a heap of them come up for sale atm so l don't wanna do much but good if l can stand it out a bit. But then mine has the cabin, that's a huge plus so hopefully that gets it done , the others are just bare land. Same with trees, l love my trees, l've planted all my trees mine was just this bare to back when but ha, bet you a buyer cuts them all down. But then the next guy will buy one of the bare blocks and plant bloody trees right.

Are you still on that place nev or ? How close to towns l forget ? Got a misses ? , forget that to. At anyrate so you gonna stay put till they cart you out or ? But yeah , l hear ya, he made great potty mix for his dope plants and did great driveways and drainage, can say that my much for sure. The front strip and entrance are absolutely unreal now . The drive up to cabin/house, would be ok, it the stones didn't keep disappearing. Just needs the proper layers l think. When it's wet you actually slip on the grass itself it's like thick as you finger wheels just spin on it. And that's after God knows how many trailer loads of crushed rock over the yrs, just keeps growing back. But yeah, needs the layers apparently .

She'll b right nev. Guy renting the place had tractors and crap day in and out, God he was a nightmare that bloke. Mind you , with all his machinery he did totally redo and repipe that entrance itself into this ripper 5mtr wide thing though, did a great job of that must admit. Down the front use to get pretty boggy to but he also machined all that strip and fixed the drainage, stays nice and dry now. Drive upto cabin part though, def needs some love. It's on a slope doesn't bog up but does get slippery bc of the slope.

Yeah , thx for those. Won't be spending much and even the labour won't be too bad. All l wanna do is something like Marty's idea. And the cabin, thinking just get it all working again, shower, solar, dunny, small kitchen needs some stuff. It'd make a fantastic wkender, holidays, something to stay in while they build themselves a a house, whatever their thoughts. lt's transportable and there's plenty of room and spots so they can move it or whatever if they'd like to put a house where it sits atm, tis the best spot must admit. Won't take much at all to bring it back thing was, the moron renting it before stripped it and stole stuff, atm l'm just left it as is. Reckon to sell though, bring it back, tidy up round the place, that drive ideas a beauty too, it sorta has one but it's just a track over grass really. Put down bucket loads of stone over the yrs but it all keeps disappearing and goes back to grass. Such is incredibly resilient nature eh. Apparently though you have to put different layers to make it last so might make some calls and see about that too. Not a long drive shouldn't cost much. Tidying up fencing and gateway won't coast anything got stuff here. But yeah that sort of thing is all l'm talking, small jobs, should make a helluva difference though.

lt had a bloody ford grill in some parts too, who would even bother making this AI shyt and why ? Not a bad looking car though actually that one whatever it is but it's not even remotely the eh holden.

Loved your cars and bikes eh Nev , good for you. Brother loves bikes he's got bike business. Mum had a Peugeot way back, jesus that thing was nice car , wouldn't know the yr think it was around and 85 or something. l dunno , people don't seem to read much here but have said , plenty to do and have also had hobbies all my life to. Only got back here 3mths ago though as said to haven't had a chance to scratch my arse l'm not even established here. Have gotten a shipload done though at least. Anyway decided l'm doing the cabin up then selling the place if possible. l've started that now should be ready in a few wks and we'll see how she goes.

The guy says call me, won't answer emails but his number says hidden . Tried a few things to unhide he's number nothin worked - any ideas ? Actually anyone else too for that matter , l could put the ad here or something maybe someone could get the damn number up. Even tried ph book his whole name is on it and it's only a small town but nothin.

Well, l believe all that stuffs good for us especially as we age,you gotta have stuff to do or you just get old that's not the problem for me.But as l've said, l've had big properties and l'm sick of them but also a helluva lot of driving living here and l'm sick of driving too. Some aren't some still love the work. Met a farmer 87 still worked his 400ac farm and cattle, yaknow, it was backed right off but he still had some cattle. Still hand hoed a 2ac veggie plot, still rode his motor bike all over the farm daily and brought cattle in with it. Said to him one day especially the veggie plot but how come you don't just use the tractor. He said l love doing it , been doing it 60yrs, keeps me in shape, great thinking time too, took him about 3 wks to get through it. He was always picking up sticks and leaves of the ground, sprung down to them like a 10yr old said how come your always picking up leaves kev , says if l didn't do that my back ed b fkd. Gotta laugh. Met another farmer still running his whole 1000ac property 85, stronger than many 40yr olds. Said when are you gonna hang up the tractor mate ha ha, reckons he still loved his farm - soooo, take your pick on that one. Sooo, end of the day l don't reckon hurts you at all you can even see studies longer people work healthier they stay it's fact but that's not it for me. l just wouldn't feel like it bc as l say, bit sick of properties especially bigger ones. But yeppa , did that list few wks back too, mainly just to look at it in black and white for awhile. Pros were like 4 things, big things though, like l own it no bills could pay for a small build and still have some savings- cons , were around 18 though. All the driving , the isolation, the tiny town, some of the biggies.

Your not wrong about the mind not resting easily in indecision Nev. Something as big as this at a time like this nothing is resting easily for me atm l'm afraid. Think l've come to a decision over the last few wks though, on the whether to stay here or not part anyway. Thing is, 2 different guys looked at this place when it was up for sale, both a bit older than me, one 70ish. Both pretty well said the same thing and echoing the same things worrying me about staying and l've thought a lot about it. The 70ish guy said it's a lovely block lovely spot but while he'd be enjoying it right now, it wouldn't be long though before he'd be sick of the driving [50k ea way to the main town] , as well as the tiny town here and plus the size of the property itself and looking after it. They both said much the same thing. They were right , l mean 5 -6yrs l'd be same boat, few more onto that and l'd probably need to be looking for a new place again. There'd be no dodging that one better l don't even bother. Better l just try selling it off and look for something more suitable long term l reckon. Don't know what l'll be able to manage with prices out there now if l can offload this one and decide to buy again but really, end of the day it's just not even practical staying.

Haaa nah mate , no midlife here, that's a beauty. Think l had one about 10 yrs back though ha ha. But nah, always known the meaning of life, l wonder, do people really go looking for that bs ? Pretty simple one that one if you ask me, make sure you enjoy the ride and do whatever you must do- ha, or something like that. l suppose it's true what your saying though l am kinda pushing myself for some decision. l do actually feel a bit threatened actually , by bloody time . Age, this bloody housing crisis, better make up my mind bc l sure won't feel like building either here or somewhere new forever that much l do know. Pretty small window for that one couldn't be stuffed now but if l dilly around too long never will. l'm also not living great the way it is right now either.
-
lt's quite nice being here a lot of the time it's a lovely property, though as l say l have still been getting v down at night bc of the situation itself. The indecision, just plain stuck on it and so the limbo and so then the time wasting away because of it. Not getting any younger l can hardly be bothered now but if this goes on, restarting somewhere else especially if that involves building which it probably would, either here or on some new place, either way that'll just get harder. Keep telling myself logically, well what's a few mths out right now, don't worry about it hell even if it takes 6-12mths to make a decision not really any harm butttt , on the other hand, not as simple as that.
-
God almighty, l just don't know what the hell to do with this situation.lf someone told me 20yrs ago l'd be in this crap now think l would've called it a day right there. l can't be bothered with any of it, l've had a restless life, right now, l just wanna plonk and that be that. Ofc l've thought a 1000 times then so , why not just do that then, right here, and to hell with it, be grateful and just be. Last thing on this planet l bloody feel like is looking for a new place and dealing with all this bullshit. Never dreamed l'd be in this damn indecision and shit at this stage , didn't even buy this place back when with any thought of ever living there it was just suppose to be a small investment . Same time right through l'd thought though maybe just hang onto bc you never do know. Ha, bloody self for filled prophecy.

That was my brother 50s not me l'm a lot older than him. He's no idiot though he'll do whatever he does and eh the misses is is loaded to so they'll be right. Me. l have plenty to do , nice to have the time for once to, retirement won't be a hassle not financially or other , just gotta sort the housing and stick to the old budget and all will be well. Been checking more out it's doable. No regrets taking off vanning, was one of the nicest 12mths of my life and something l always wanted to do, loved it. Might even take another one doesn't cost much once you get use to getting your shopping sorted in all the different places but that's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. But yeah , there is a housing crisis on and it's bloody bad to so you do come across a lot of people actually living from their van rather than just travelling. Some love it l've met others not so much. Haaa, marry for money ya reckon, well, if you can or want to that's a whatever from me. Met one chick had 5houses, she was nice to, wouldn't marry her though probably needed my head read and should've though ha ha.
-
Thanks for that red , won't explain it'd just be best. But eh Jerry , yep, that is a complicated one , should've known it'd involve women ha ha. Nottttt, that l regret being married but it did change so many things and huge decisions, especially financially whichhh, has put me in this position now, not going into it tis what it tis doesn't matter now. Does still hurt though that we would've been multi millinaires buttt, spilt milk. Funny, ex wifey said to me the other day no regrets and l thought well darlin, that's a really good attitude l guess, so her, she's a glass half full. Soooo, l'm trying to take a leaf out of that one atm myself for the situation now. lt wasn;t only that anyway it was stupid me that did a really bad deal on my new house later and got stuffed up in that all by myself. But eh, that involved a woman to. l didn't think l'd retire for yrs yet either was still enjoying work but l took off caravanning 12mths got really lazy and now l don't wanna go back ha ha. My brothers 50s and hasn't worked 2yrs now either and having trouble going back too reckons he ain't doing it now if he can find a way out of it. He does own his place though and has some savings, his gf's got plenty of money too. Funny, we were having some beers just today and chuckling about how lazy we both are now.
