Broken Hill short film

This is an interesting short film about Broken Hill, made in 1953. Where I lived for 12 years.

I drove through B H recently. It has all the signs of slowly dying. Plenty of empty shops and houses there.

Is the mine running out of ore?

There's lead everywhere , in roof cavities and dust. The Lake they created on the Darling in the 60's is Probably empty. Lots of surface area and not a lot of depth (like Mt ISA) with low humidity means  too much evaporation, to function effectively as a storage. Nev
