9. Neil, if you are referring to the daughter Caitlin, I have no hair left from her but then I would give my arms and legs for her. Caitlin has her year 12 formal coming up and guess who she wants to dress her up for it, not her "mummy" but me, yes me, and that's when the fight started...Corrine is not very happy about that but Caitlin says I know what makes her look beautiful, not that she isn't already beautiful...I call her Beaut as her nik name, short for beautiful. Anyway here is a picture of her dress that I picked out...next is the accessories then makeup which we have planned a trial run and her hair

Queens power

But I guess he wouldn't have done that without first consulting the queen to get approval

Queens power

I am not sure if everyone knows this but the Queen has the last say on any laws that are passed here in Australia. Apparently it is extremely rare that the Queen exercises her right and the last time it was done was in the 1700's when she stopped a law regarding the Scottish military EXCEPT for in 1979 when she stopped a law here in Australia. It was hushed up till 2006 but she exercised her right in a 'soft' manner without coming out formally to stop a NSW State law. Some info... In the case of the Queen of Australia, concerning a move by a 1979 NSW Government to terminate appeals to the Privy Council, constitutional expert Anne Twomey remarks: What is most remarkable about this story is not that the Queen, supported by the British government, was prepared to override the will of the New South Wales Parliament as late as 1979, but that this entire incident was hushed up so that the public never knew of it until at least 2006. It illustrates the immense “soft power” of the Queen. She does not have to refuse assent. It is enough to indicate that she might do so and in almost all circumstances a government will yield. This system is supported by the procedure for receiving advice from the realms. Informal advice must first be sent and it is only once the Queen’s private secretary indicates approval of the informal advice that the formal advice may be given. Hence, any objections by the Queen are raised and resolved at the informal advice stage so that the Queen never rejects formal advice.
16. Its a Mondeo Titanium wagon...its incredible...but the au fairmont wagon still sits proudly in the driveway
17. No, the last virus I got was back in the 80's and it was called the stoned virus...your pc came up with "your pc is stoned" at the c prompt. That was back before windows and the internet
18. It's a virus that is attacking Safari users and yes, it is true
19. Its a 2 litre turbo diesel Nev
20. Yeah not 100% happy with the economy cost of the new mondeo. Sure it gets around 850 k per tank highway driving so about 6lit per 100k BUT here is the thing my au gets 500 k on same trip per tank but when you cost it out at $1.25 per litre for diesel compared to 0.55c per litre for gas the au is much cheaper AND it is a 4.1 compared to the mondeo 2lit. The 4.1 will never wear out on highway cruising...i wish ford still made a fairmont wagon
21. Don't have to worry now about which fuel...yesterday purchased a new ford mondeo titanium wagon and the only engine it has is the 2 litre turbo diesel. Thanks everyone for your comments, it helped a lot
22. Wish i had it right now as i am currently mid way between melb and canberra but as usual the au is just purring along. Cruise control on. Speedo says 115 but the recreational flying gps says 111. Filled up with lpg as i left melb at 48 cents a litre...cheap motoring
23. Can someone check my figures? NOTE, everyone may have their own opinion on the figures i have used but it is a starting point Fuel cost as of today at the local petrol stations in melb and canberra Petrol $1.40/ $1.31 LPG $0.50/$0.64 Diesel $1.20/$1.31 Travelling canberra - melb - canberra is 1,300 kms per fortnight plus running around so say 750klms per week = 39,000klms per year Car stated average litres per 100klms for petrol and diesel is 10.5/8.2 - driving style would change this but unknown Conversion cost of LPG is $4,500 and diesel option is extra $3,250 - could negotiate on tese prices Litres used petrol or LPG is 4,095 and diesel is 3,198 per year at 39,000klms Fuel cost per year of melbourne and canberra is Petrol $5,733/$5,364 LPG $2,047/2,621 Diesel $3,838/$4,189 This would give a payback period of LPG over diesel of only 1 year and a saving of around $1,500 on fuel with LPG over diesel for each year after that at 39,000klms per year or $375 per year at 10,000klms plus cheaper servicing cost Seems to me if the above figures are even somewhat correct, going LPG is a no brainer in the financial sense
24. Is that because of the diesel? In my mind, the high sales of diesel cars could lead to the fuel companies capitalising on this in years to come and move the price of diesel up for more profit...tomorrow diesel will be the petrol of today. Perhaps LPG may be the go besides the good old trusty 4.1 litre ford engine is unstoppable. The service guy in Canberra I go to was telling me that one of his customers came in to get his ford serviced and complained that his was starting to use a bit of oil, went from full to add in the life of a service and it was an LPG converted one...the car had just clocked over 1 million ks...mind you it was a taxi though which are always running hot but still, the 4.1 is one hell of an engine. The only problem I see with LPG is in 10 years time more and more service stations could begin to drop it, not all as it will still be needed but i may have to search for one to fill up instead of just going to the local. Overall i think the cost of LPG per klm would be cheaper than diesel so the payback period would be sooner i.e. $1,500 extra overall would be around 30,000 to 40,000 klms and with doing canberra - melb - canberra every 2 weeks that would be 3 years and my work contract is for another 6 months but with 2 x 1yr extensions. Real crystal ball stuff though
25. In my dual fuel BA series 2 fairmont ghia i had to have new injectors put in at around 90k on the clock but i have never had to touch the au. One stupid thing is the au always used oil on a big trip like 2 litres of oil doing a melb to brisbane. It has been like it ever since the lpg was done, all 170ks untill a couple of months ago when i had it serviced. The guy doing the service said that he replaced some metal washer or something with a plastic one so it shouldn't use any oil now. He was correct, it hasn't used a drop of oil doing canberra to melb to canberra 5 times since. The service people i use in canberra who also do lpg conversions really know what they were doing so lesson learnt is that not all lpg conversion people are the same and i would hate to think how much i have paid out in oil over those 170k
