1. I know a user of this site that doesn't have a high or even moderate level of education and command of the English language but posted away to the best of his ability until one day he got attacked...he doesn't post any more and he is one of the nicest guys around...pity
2. Thanks volksy, bit bugged for tonight but will get to the barby at Goulburn
3. Well, I am in Canberra now and staying in an apartment 100 meters from the Air Services building, no I am not working for them, but this apartment is only for short term until I find a cheaper one but work is paying for a week in this one. If anyone reading this is in Canberra, let me know and perhaps we can hook up for a drink some time...what else is there to do in Canberra
4. Thanks Don, I remember one time when the family and I went there for a visit many years ago and we stayed at a caravan park in one of their units. We woke up in the morning, couldn't have a shower, no water to make a coffee...all the water had frozen in the pipes. The caravan park owner had to come over with an industrial size hair dryer to heat the pipes up. I was dying for a coffee by the time he had got the water flowing again.
5. I have obtained a position with a Government Agency in Canberra and I start on Monday the 16th March, 6 month+ contract so I was wondering whether anyone here would happen to have a 1 bedroom apartment available for rent in Canberra. Better to help someone here first than to go to the agents. If so please let me know ASAP, thanks
6. If you remember years ago there was an advert with a dentist brushing his teeth and the voice over said "This is ???, a dentist so we can't show you his face...", well that was actually a teacher at my children's school who acted in commercials on the side
7. I have sat back over the years watching tv ads for new super duper toothbrushes and shavers and always asking the question how marketing is telling us that our previous toothbrush or shaver can be improved. I mean at what point do they stop, throw another blade in a shaver, WOW a 2 blade shaver is better because the first blade pulls the up and the following blade cuts it, now 5 blades are even better. The new toothbrush is designed to get in between teeth but the next new one gets in between teeth and has a specially shaped bristle. When do they stop and have the perfect shaver or toothbrush because there is only so much you can do with these...until now http://techcrunch.com/2015/02/17/oral-b-pro-7000-smartseries-with-bluetooth-review/#mcyIEw:Ayp
8. Did you know that the size of an iPad came from sheep and they were the first aviators? This is a interesting/funny article http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/film/film-news/11389922/21-things-you-never-knew-about-sheep.html Go Shaun
9. I really want one of the new 12inch surface pro 3 tablets from MS but the two big things stopping me is in this day and age mobility is what tablets are all about and who in their right mind would make a fantastic tablet that doesn't have connectivity outside of wifi. The only way you can use this tablet away from wifi is to carry around a dongle with you to connect to the internet when on the go. The other major drawback with it is the way the pen just attaches to the side, i bet you will lose a few of these over time unlike other tablets where the pen inserts into the housing.
10. I use 8.1 adjusted to win 7 look and feel and have found it a lot better than 7 or 8...very quick, no issues like BSOD and very nice with the 7 start menu and gaphics etc
11. It is most probable that it is strategic. This will have a huge impact on developers and development not only with the new browser, hopefully they will abide by browser rules this time and not create their own rules, but also that windows 10 being cross platform. I can see that if you have an android phone you can dump android and install windows on it. This will send app developers straight to windows and MS will get loads of income from apps. It will, in my opinion, cause a huge shakeup in the whole IT industry especially against Google and Apple

13. I would prefer one card, one that has embedded into it: Your drivers license Your credit cards Your industry licenses Your Medicare card Your Flybuys card Your myki card etc etc etc Easy to do with technology now and readers can be set up to just read the portion of the card relevant to what card aspects they need...but then the Wallet manufacturing companies would go broke, cows and pigs wouldn't be needed as much, price of meat would drop, heck...why don't we just all have a chip inserted under the skin with all our info from our cards plus GPS location, pacemaker ability, cochlear capability, etc etc etc...you get the idea, would be good though (Now, where is my wife at the moment.....stuff the wife, WHERE IS MY 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER RIGHT NOW)

15. My wife's step father rebuilds Vincents in NZ, in fact a couple he has done are now in Museums so if you don't have any luck, let me know

17. Just found it...it is called Cool Iris, thanks anyway
18. Years ago I found an application that scrolled through your images with the main image you were viewing in the center and other images in the list were on the left and right but smaller. So as you moved your mouse left or right, the images moved in the same way with them getting bigger and bigger to they got to the center. It was like a wall of images that you moved left or right. I can't remember what it was but I think it came out of an early Mac style of image presentation system and it sort of looked like this: Can anyone remember what the application was or any application that does the same?
19. Here's a solution for some lucky person, I am not the entrepreneurial type of person and this site along with Clear Prop "could" make a decent return for the right kind of person so front up with $100k (probably a 2yr 100% return) and you can have the lot, walk in, walk out, domains, Clear Prop shop, aviation stock, software, hosting...everything, and I will take up sailing. Now here's is a great opportunity for RAAus to own the biggest thorn in their side ;) or I am sure there is someone who can do it better because after 11 years, I am just tired
20. We do have a tongue in cheek Smiley
21. Nev, that is because you have been on the site for many years before the Likes system was implemented
22. A Poll has been created for you to cast your vote at: http://www.recreationalflying.com/threads/post-likes.127747/
23. Then are you saying to lose ALL the "Like" alternatives and just leave the one "Like"... if so that would certainly make the database smaller and the site a micro second faster. The software has a single "Like" function built in and the variations of the Likes system is an addon that I purchased which can be removed to just leave a single "Like"
