Phil Perry
This superb recent graphic from the website 'Go Free Syria' explains the ISIS situation in simple terms. I hope that this clears things up. . . . . >
Phil Perry
I heard today that TWO specific groups of Anti- regime rebels, BOTH of which are supplied and armed by the U.S. are now fighting each other, . . . whilst also being bombed themselves by the Russians and the Regime forces from the air, and being shelled by Turkish artillery. . . . What a confusing mess. . .
pmccarthy
Soon after the bomber was invented about 1915 the Brits were bombing Syria, they bombed it in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s and I don't know when else and it is still being bombed so no wonder the Syrians get a little tetchy at times. Edit....ok it was the French at first. I was thinking of the Brits in Iraq.

Yes indeedy. . . .the dividing up of parts of the middle East ( Iraq particularly ) by the British Govt. of the time was not very clever at all, as geological geometry takes on board no sensible consideration of long standing tribal boundaries and vastly differing philosophies. . . . .
