1. Dazza Coromals are great vans especially if you get one earlier than 2011 models I think, after 2011 they get the interiors made and flat packed out of China same as Jayco does and they are crap and nothing like the earlier models which have beaut Aussie timbers that hold up As for me I picked up a great 2007 Coromal Corvair 541 just recently (Darby & Joan van as my wife says 2 berth) tow vehicle is a 2008 2 litre 127kw 360nm TD Xtrail manual and tows beautifully, only had to fit poly airbags under the rear as Nissan don't advise or warrant using level riders as is with most Nissan vehicles these days
2. Bex I must say yes you resemble that photo lol
3. Here is one of me & my middle daughter (and yes she is happily married)
4. Barlow & Chambers got hung somewhere over that way many years back, no song & dance from the pollies or the media over that, well not to this extent. Its Over now as the fat lady would sing. Can't wait to see what the media latches on too next
5. All I will say on it is thank fire truck it's over, all the drivel in the media was painful portraying these 2 as model prisoners, they knew the risk, they took the gamble and they were the ringleaders not the mules, they fought the law in Indonesia and the law won. Got what they deserved, only barbaric thing I didn't like was they shot them, I feel a hot dose of the crap they were peddling would have been far better as the firing squad just doesn't sit right in this day and age with me. I have never had an inkling to travel to Bali and never will, not that there aren't decent people there but it's just not on my bucket list of things to do, I worked in India for 5 months and that was an eye opener with some real nice people and some real nice corruption going on there so I am just guessing it wouldn't be much different in Indonesia. A few days time we will hear no more from the media or the government on this and that I am glad for, IMO the government was just putting on a show to make it's self look good for the supporters and if it was serious about saving them they are real W#nkers as these 2 were tax evading drug pushing low life's, not your average hard working tax paying Australian. You reap what you sow.
6. 38 degrees and millions of fly's near Innamincka, I hate the fly's, been a hot summer out here with days up towards 50 degrees back in Dec, Jan, & Feb, looking forward to going back home for 3 weeks on the 26th march then back to the fly's again 3 weeks later Alf
7. GG, Just watched that Chris Kutcher video, smart man that fella. Alf
8. It's not economical either to put another 50,000 people on welfare and have the remainder of the work force cover the slack while those parasitic pollies fill their boots with tax payer funded goodies and who are paid way to much than what they are really worth especially in the superannuation part.. Maybe we should just become a real third world country and manufacture nothing at all then by the sounds of it. Should also stop selling our LPG to Japan for around 5cpl by the ship load, and our iron ore to China also, maybe we should charge them a realistic price for a commodity they don't have in their own country, you wonder why we cannot compete, well they get it for nicks manufacture it for nicks because they got it cheap and sell it back to us for over inflated prices. I agree with you Teckair we have priced ourselves out of it for giving it to other countries far cheaper that what it is really worth. For such a wealthy mineral country we really are stupid. Alf
9. What I cannot work out with the government is that they are not prepared to assist the car industry with funding, it makes no sense at all as they could allocate x amount to Holden, Ford & Toyota to keep people employed and indirectly keep many thousands more employed in the components sector. The government would make this money back in taxes from the individuals still employed over a period instead of paying out welfare to the 50,000+ people it would be putting out of work. Do the Math 50,000 people +- put on welfare from the car industry closures say at 400 per week x 52 weeks, about 1 billion a year give or take the government has to dish out with no return or chuck in 200 million a year to each of the manufacturers and they come out way in front, they have saved 400 million alone in the welfare cost not including the taxes the workers would be contributing back to the government.. Go figure ?
10. Mark, Bunnings would be better than nothing at all, plenty of the younger generation don't want to work and want it all, they think it is their god given right for us the tax payer to support them. Everyone has the opportunity to work if they really want it but some just don't want to start at the bottom rung, I must admit it is daunting thought once you get past 50 as people struggle to get gainful employment as some companies think you are past the use by date which is not the case. I would be happy to work at Bunnings if I was out of work as for me work no matter what it is gives me self esteem and a worth in life. Note: I am no way having a go at you in any way as I do not know you or know your situation, I am just passing comment in general. Cheers Alf
11. The real crooks are the pollys who rape and pillage the average worker, I sure as hell don't get 69% of tax payer funded super which I can get my hands on after 10 years. They are the dirt bags of society. I always wanted to join the police force except for the wages it is a disgrace what the country's emergency services personnel get paid.
12. Yeah it does, just don't go around bagging others who work hard for what they earn, I admire people like you who do that sort of thing for others as it is something I could not do. But I am not going to sit here and have someone criticize someone else because of what job they have as our type of jobs didn't come knocking on our doors, it took a lot of effort to make a reality. It is a chosen path I took as we all have a choice, I am no better than anyone else just because of my earning capacity. Alf
13. Same government who are trying to sell government owned assets which do not work, here is an interesting video of what the Libs in Vic did selling the SECV to private consortiums in the interest of the public (yeah right devastated the Latrobe Valley which still has not recovered)
14. Winsor68, You get out of life what you put in, I have worked in the oil & gas industry for the last 20 years, 10 of that I haven't been home as I have worked equal time and sacrificed a lot for the income I earn, it is ok to have a crack at someone who is prepared to be away from home 1/2 their life and sacrifice birthdays, weddings, kids school things to give their family a better life. Yeah I am all for as long as I get yours I Bl**dy earn it mate while your sleeping in your bed every night. And what is your real job compared to mine????, bet your not out in the p!ssing rain & hail offshore in 60kt winds drilling for oil & gas or out there in 50 + degree heat in the desert like I am now that allows YOU put petrol in your car and keep you and your family warm and toasty of a night. I sacrifice my time and my families lifestyle for you to enjoy your luxuries, the stuff doesn't come from the bowser mate or the stove or heater, it comes from the efforts of others. Yeah I earn a shit pile of money alright and don't feel one bit of guilt about it while your at home every night with your family & friends around you. See that thing in my Avatar, I would never have had the opportunity to buy that if from not a lot of sacrifice from me and my family. Still like to know what your real job is also compared to mine and others living the dream & the sacrifice. Alf
