Exactly the point - it would not have changed the result, but would have shown the Aussies to be very fair and good sports (remember that is what cricket used to be about?). Also would be good for the umpires to get a kick up the *rse and review the rules before further embarrassing themselves in later matches. It concerns me that with all the technology available these days the umpires seem to think they can just defer the decisions to the technology and avoid actually umpiring themselves. This proves they still have to actually do the job of umpire and need to know the rules.....

Very sad. I too went on a few school day trips to Calais a long time ago when I lived in Essex.....it must be very different now.

Hmmmm.....I think you will be waiting a long time....

Very dry here in Melbourne region. So dry that there are big cracks in the ground at our airfield, making taxiing a dicey process - have to watch out for the nosewheel very carefully. The runway has had to have a temporarily displaced threshold to avoid some nasty big cracks at one end. The owner can do nothing until we get some serious rain to close up the cracks again. Also been a lot of very windy days, with fog/low cloud early in the morning followed by hot temperatures later on after the fog has burnt off, making turbulence a regular feature. Waiting for some nice, calm, autumnal weather! Cheers, Neil
