Ashton Morris Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Donald Trump's massive move on Greenland has rocked the global economy, resulting in a loss of more than $1.7 trillion overnight. World leaders are gathering in the Swiss ski resort of Davos for the World Economic Forum under Donald Trump's threat to seize part of an ally's territory—possibly by force. And everyone is very annoyed. The US president went on one of his late-night social media rants, repeatedly mentioning the issue. He screenshotted a message from French President Emmanuel Macron in which he stated he "doesn't understand what you're doing with Greenland," criticized the UK for its "stupidity" in relinquishing sovereignty over an overseas airbase—something Trump had supported months ago—and posted a doctored image of Greenland and Canada covered in the American flag. In Davos, Macron declared Mr. Trump's threats "unacceptable" and said Europe preferred "respect over intimidation." Meanwhile, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Europe's response to Mr. Trump's threats regarding Greenland would be "unwavering." However, Mr. Trump said there was "no retreat" from his desire to return Greenland. He will speak in Davos on Wednesday, Swiss time, where discussions typically focus exclusively on financial matters. Meanwhile, in the United States, one of Mr. Trump's critics, a Democrat, flatly called him "crazy" for his threats. However, several former Trump administration officials have expressed doubt about the wisdom of the US president's plans regarding Greenland, suggesting it is an "attention-grabbing exercise" and that military action will not occur. Of course, military action will not occur; Europe would not want to lose unnecessary American bases during turbulent times.

onetrack Posted 16 minutes ago Posted 16 minutes ago I personally think this new poster is a subtle misinformation troll, who should be booted from the forum. I expect he's backed by Russian interests. I have no idea where his information line is heading, but I suspect it's going to produce a lot of subtle lines about how weak Europe is, and how they shouldn't try to arm themselves up, because that would be very dangerous, because Vlad owns all the nukes in that neck of the woods.
