  1. But they do encourage via nag screens and allow you to upgrade to an OS that the iphone 4 almost chokes on but from which it can't be reversed so the user quickly gets dissatisfied with the now choked down device. It a great proportion of these cases they get to sell a new later model device. Very sound business model.
  2. I just upgraded my desktop to Win 7 from Vista because this site used to not behave properly with the highest upgrade of Internet Explorer that was available in Vista, I did strike just one other site complained about my browser too. The computer boots up nearly twice as fast on Win 7 than it did in Vista. The Vista wasn't a clean install but was extensively tuned up so I wouldn't complain about windows 7.
  3. Be aware though that the free upgrade offer is extended for only twelve months from the launch date, but that is still long enough to let a whole lot of early adopters upgrade and react so you can Google their complaints and make a truly informed upgrade decision in four or five months.
  4. That would probably happen to a trusty reliable Rotax 912 too, if you tried to wring 170Hp out of it's 80Hp corpse
  5. Nobody lives long enough to make all the mistakes themselves. A lot of mistakes will kill you quicker than 5 doses of XXXX.
  6. Is this not why we still have millions of people still literally believing every word that was translated into the bible. It was written in a time when Joe Public had questions about why things were the way he observed, but absolutely no scientific knowledge to answer his questions. Any scientific knowledge was closely guarded by the clergy to maintain control of the population, even four hundred years ago the scientists and the clergy were quite often the same people. Now that more of the population have scientific knowledge and use the their enquiring minds to answer there own questions of wonder, less need to ingest the retail packaged explanation written for an earlier time, the transition is not yet complete. In the mean time we will continue fighting to the death in the name of which ever God our leaders proclaim to be the only and right one, without regard for the enemy believing they are fighting the same unifying and righteous fight in a different name of the same God, teaching them answers to the same question of wonder that they ask themselves, but not stopping to think of the answers for themselves.
  7. And their paternal domination.
  8. My only criticism is that perhaps "Points, Pedants and Pricks" should have been posted in OFF TOPIC unless that was a flying prick.
  9. Any different to every war in history, all fought for God, for King and for Country? Both sides always have God on their side! Don't worry about for Greed, and for Gold and for Oil!
  10. As a kid I came up with the theory that if you lived a good life, the people you left behind would like you and speak well of you after you died, and if they had good memories they would go on doing that for ever, That is heaven! and if you were a real prick, well then you get what is coming...
  11. No risk of breeding on either!!!
  12. And Halloween is not the American commercialised product that it is often accused to be but yet another Pagan celebration doctored up to fit the Christian calendar as All souls day. Not surprising since it is the time when the veil between the living and the dead is the thinnest.
  13. There are shipwrecks in the Sahara desert too. The world is a changing place even in the short space of time humans have been running amok.
  14. Sounds a bit like a venereal disease or something, the world was probrably better off once they found the cure for it!
  15. of Theophilus of Alexandria "...the perpetual enemy of peace and virtue, a bold, bad man, whose hands were alternately polluted with gold and with blood." just about sums up all that is bad in the world done by man in the name of God.
  16. The interesting thing with all energy work, including divining and dowsing is that you don't have to believe in it, or believe that you can do it to be able to do it, you just have to be prepared to give it a try.
  17. I can just tell this is a highly informed comment, we use water divining in our day to day work life to find water pipes, don' t take anybody down, or mislead a sole. The only thing that makes divining NOT WORK is if the diviner has a pre-concieved idea of what he/she is going to find! Done with an open mind it is very accurate, particularly if the water is flowing!
  18. I don't believe that belief in god or God has anything to do with belief in the life energy of a living being carrying on after the worldly corpse has given out.
  19. Absolutely, you just are not attributing the credit to a particular deity, but rather relying on the energy that is the greater part of your being. Everyone spiritual path is different, some just buy the retail version, and marketing is hard on your individual confidence to take your own path, keeps the customers in line that way.
  20. "An inconvenient truth"? No sorry that one has been done already, hope this one is more believable.
  21. That may have something to do with the long recognised method of letting the locals keep something of what they had believed so they will more easily accept what they are being converted too. It is less untidy that way, instead of a procession of deceased ancestors remains, south americans now process with catholic religious idols. Maybe the great flood was just an allowed concession in the same way, the great flood of Uru passed down in verbal history to all the peoples of the world as they populated the planet.
  22. But don't worry he will be back next month!
  23. To the victor, the spoils and the right to write the history!(as the Americans do so well) Along with that the right to burn the books of the history of the victim. How much science have we had to relearn throughout human history because of this flawed approach? So much Mayan and Vedic science was truely inspired and only dribs and drabs of it survive to see the light of day and go on benefiting humanity.
  24. Great shame all the women in parliament were not the same quality as her, she doesn't need to be feminist to make an impact. She doesn't need to check out anybody's package either!
