  1. Loading up future budgets with huge debt and permanent benefits for the rich is the LNP dna.

Morrison knew they would not last and spent like a drunken dictator.

Now they claim its class warfare and hurting aspirational Aussies.

    All bullshit offcourse.

  2. We should be taxing share transactions at say 0.5%

Currently they do billions of fast transactions using computers doing it in milliseconds and this artificially distorts the market. Sometimes to almost crash the market.

This would stabilise markets, reduce panics esp computer driven ones and generate revenue.

Additional taxes should be on derivatives etc and hedging against the market.

That is just the basic start of tax reform.

My understanding is that the 2 places were deliberately mis-named from the start, in what may be the world's first real-estate scam.

Yes it was a scam, to get viking settlers to go there seeking a new home.

Greenland was a huge scam and many died from the cold.

  4. It is irrelevant to say Cook didn't really invade.

He did under instructions from the queen take possession but was meant to get agreement and make treaty which he did not .

they used force whenever necessary or not and killed any who challenged them.

don't forget they even paid bountys to kill the locals.

the colony was to replace America which was also invaded under friendly auspices.

was Tasmania invaded? They purposely tried to kill every last native on the island.

    that is total genocide.

the argument of Terra nullis was bullshit and they knew at the time.

  5.

This is one of many conversions, lots of different ways to the similar result.

Caution they are American so make it seem they are geniuses to make it work.

  6. I assume the 1500 is still the old A series engine?

I thought they only went to 1275cc ?

As an aside if it is a A series, then you can double the power and triple the reliability and have more revs as well.

The solution is a BMW K series 1200 head, they basically for straight on and use a chain drive off the crank to the 16 valve head. These heads are legendary for toughness and huge distances.

Lots of modded minis had this done.

Results in 120 HP. Minimum and includes great fuel injection.

They suit very well as not bike like in extreme revs etc and huge torque at low/med revs.

Better economy, huge power and dead reliable.

    Just a thought.

  7. Boats are great ways to live but better at spending money.

They cost much more when no used or left long periods, just like aircraft.

Those who spend the most tend to know the least and have more money than sense.

They can actually be money spinners eg yacht doing day trips for tourists. Some are booked 3trips a day 7 days a week.

I know one that's done 100  days straight bookings.

  8. Exactly

I am surrounded by a world renowned RAMSA bird sanctuary and national Park in one of the world's best harbours.

I might not be flying but nature shows me everyday. Too see a Sea Eagle fish then roost on the island is priceless.

And some of the world's best seafood is only a bit of effort away.

    A bit like SNAFU.

    Yep,

Sadly, I was never able to approve a pneumatic drug dart gun but sure dreamed about it. Star trek style would have been great, maybe even a Fazer set to stun.

Now my biggest threat is swimming with sharks, pure bliss and safe....relatively.

  10. This place reminds of my old work...

I always felt great going to work, no matter how fucked up I was, the staff and clients/patients were far worse.

Naturally entropy ie: from organised to disorganised is the nature of the beast. Or in my case bat shit crazy situations on a daily basis.

There is a particular skill of knowing how to lead by getting in amongst it and standing back and taking the aerial view. It can't really be taught, just like wisdom.

Notice, I never used the "management" word. It has been so poisoned by modern capitalist theory that it is the enemy of society.

I would however suggest some should remember my advice at work..

"Stop griping about shit that you can't change or doesn't really matter and concentrate on what does.

So take your bloody pills, and chill the fuck out"

Then I would leave the staff meeting and see the clients.

Imagine , the FOOL who persuaded the boaties to put an

' Alluminium Label ' , to the hull of a boat sitting in ' Salt ' water .

    ( had to be a BUREAUCRAT ).

    spacesailor

Given almost all are alloy hulled tinnies, it is not a problem.

A steel boat is normally only found in commercial big stuff or some yachts in which case some expoxy primer including the rivet holes is needed.

I know it's a pain but sure helps prove you own the tinny esp if the spare plate is well hidden.

Locally it cost $120 a year to park a tinny/ kayak/ row boat in the council on shore storage racks. No sticker and they can legally take and destroy/ sell your boat. The council controls everything above Highwater mark. This provides no proof of ownership.

But a plated boat ie my 13 ft Titanic only cost $45 year for full rego and I can legally park anywhere on water or shoreline/boat dock. The boat is plate is forever after a $80 fee. It is heaps cheaper to do full rego and is far better than

    an a local council sticker.

It's the stickered ones that get stolen not the plated ones. Sure a tiny motor means no rego or licensed but a faster motor and rego is cheaper and my boat and motor are registered nationally and easy to trace for theft.

It is paperwork but the cheapest and safest way to go.

Come a big storm when boats go missing, I know mine will come back, the water police, Maritime and rescue boats all know it's mine.

Actually if mine goes missing they will go look for it. They only have to check the rego or hull plate and bingo, they call my mobile.

No plate and I would have no chance of getting it back, no ability to prove ownership. Really the hull plate is the cheapest, best investment you will ever make.

My larger vessel, registered internationally as a "ship" also has two of the plates, not ideal as one is riveted to my teak wheel station but not a big deal in the scheme of things.

If your worried about the alloy plate and corrosion, it's the least of your worries.

PS Nev I don't think it's you that need the pills.

How many of the RAM size are out there?  There's Mercedes cars that are just as heavy.. How many of todays diesels put out smoke?   They have Particulate filters and Blue add. The worst pollutant is CO2  and some of t he improvements actually reduce the economy.    Nev

Nev, sorry there are no Mercs that heavy unless you go commercial vehicles.

The big ones are selling as fast as they import/ convert them.

Over 10,000 of the biggies last year and much more projected.

Even a new landcrusher is close to 3 tonnes.

Since the release of the Cybertruck and the big increase in its price, I'd have thought orders would fall away. Apparently not so. Tesla has reported that they have been receiving 10,000 new orders per day and orders now stand at 2.3 million. At their stated production rate of 250,000 per year that is over 9 years of orders. So order one now & get delivery in 2033. Most orders are from the US & Canada but apparently Australian orders are No 3. There are a lot of crazy people in this world.

I really expect a lot of those orders will never be filled as demand will collapse after the hangover wears off.

The Aussies will never get one as it could not meet our ADR and new euro standards we are taking up.

Many US orders will be from queue jumpers hoping to secure a place to sell later for a huge profit. That market will quickly be filled and a lot will be left with trucks they personally did not really want. I expect most have been ordered as speculative investment.

Naturally Tesla will use these deposits as interest free finance. At $1000 ? Each that's 2.3 billion.
