As most of you use both this site and the Recreational Flying site you will have noticed that both sites use different software so I would like to ask you which software do you prefer to use...the software that this site Social Australia uses with all it bells and whistles...Or, the minimalist offerings the software provides on Recreational Flying.

I have added a new section to the site called Books. Just like the Movies/TV section you can add all your favourite books into the site and get comments, start discussions etc about the book with other site users.

PLUS if you use the 10 digit ISBN code from Amazon and a user buys a copy of the book using the "Buy this book" link displayed with the listing, the site gets a small commission to help with the site costs.

It is so easy to add a book, all you need is the ISBN number. You can get this from Amazon or Google books.

1. Click the Submit A New Book button

2. Select the genre

3. Enter the ISBN number...all the details of the book should then show up once you move out of the ISBN field

4. If all the automatically fields are filled out correctly, simply click the Submit button

That's all

You can also create your own Bookshelf

I have just added a new section to the site called Movies/TV. This section allows you to add and see all the different Movies and television shows that may be of interest PLUS not only does it show a world of information about the entry but also you can add your own favourites so easily.

To add an entry just click the "Submit a new movie" button in the section, then just simply type in the title. Up will come a list of all the possible entries based on the title you entered, select the correct one and ALL the fields are automatically entered for you...you can edit them if you want but basically all you need to do is just click the submit button at the bottom...so bloody easy.

You will see that your entry will contain all the stars of the movie or television series, their Bio, the crew, any trailers, latest reviews and similar movies.

You can create a discussion on the entry in the normal way through the comment box at the bottom of the listing or even add a Review of the entry which has an up to 5 star rating system.

PLEASE, this site is only as good as its content, content that you all can add so please use the vast opportunities the site provides for you to make it your own...enjoy!

I wonder if Trump may be inadvertently playing a strategic game with the Virus. We know by a recent survey undertaken in the UK asking if they would get the Covid vaccine when it is released. ONLY 50% said they would. So, with Covid running rampant in the US those that get it do, at this stage of research, build up antibodies to become immune to it. This would mean that perhaps more than 50% would not need the vaccine anyway...a sort of was to make many of the idiots there immune to Covid. Plus, with the number of deaths and that it is a high percentage of the elderly would mean less spend on the old age pension...just a thought.

How many times did Andrews stand in front of us all saying the he is the one that is ultimately responsible and the buck stops at him...day after day after day those were his words. Now what are we seeing, everyone else is going to take the fall for his lies and deceit, today it is the Health Minister, tomorrow will be others. The minutes of the Premier's meeting initiating the hotel quarantine system show that ADF help was offered to him, yes HIM, not the Health Minister but he is still denying it, its in the bloody minutes. Daniel Andrews is the most  orrupt politician this country has seen for many years and it goes back even before the secret dealings to get euthanasia passed and even before the Labour Party stacking fraud.

Here is a sample of a chat facility on another forum. They call it the Shout Box. There are only about half a dozen members who log on before six am each day and post the sort of nothing shown here. "12ing it" is the code for leaving the Shout Box, to go to work or go get the morning paper.

 

There is a line of thought that Chat Rooms and Shout Boxes take posts away from forums but on the positive side they provide a different level of interaction...your thoughts?

Hobbies and History are 2 great ideas but like everything, the work load of populating say a History database would be big as what History do you list? But who really is indigenous...when you look at the Maori's, they are regarded by many as the indigenous New Zealanders but in fact before them there were the Moriori people. The Maori's landed from Polynesia (so are they indigenous to Polynesia and not New Zealand) and took over New Zealand, actually the Maori's are cannibals as they ate the Moriori. With the exception of being cannibals and waring tribes, the white man basically did the same to both New Zealand and Australia but in a more considerate manner. If we go back far enough, who really is indigenous?

Does anyone know who has the power over Covid-19 restrictions, is it the State Premier or the Chief Health Officer?

For example if the Chief Health Officer says he wants a Level 4 quarantine can the Premier over rule him?

My son and I were tested yesterday, It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be, Lachlan was given a priority 3 test and I was given a priority 1 test which was a double dose of swabs as they had all my health records being at the Austin. A double dose of 2 swabs down the throat and 1 down each of the nostrils. They went down so far I thought it was an endoscopy however apart from coughing over the nurse which I profusely apologised for it wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be. A couple of Lachlan's school friends were also there which was nice for him. Now the wait...............

All there is to do while we are waiting is to watch movie...watching one today that I think sums up what is happening here in Melb

Here is a screen shot of the State Gov fact sheet sent to my son Lachlan yesterday with his Close Contact notification...now this is electronic and it is not an old printed copy...is it any wonder people are confused

My son Lachlan received an email from the school advising that he has been determined to be a close contact of the positive Covid 19 case at his school. He has to get a Covid 19 test done at a hospital, not a testing station, on Sat which will be day 11 for him. He has to immediately quarantine, get the test on Sat and remain in quarantine till at least Wed which will be day 14 or later if he hasn't received his test result. The whole family is now in self quarantine and we are not leaving the house under any circumstances.
