Many of those that live in Melbourne would have heard the sad story of a 26 year old girl stabbing her mother and the police then shooting her to death over this weekend. Not tasered, not using pepper spray but shooting her to kill her. The media have been making out the daughter to be a nasty person that has murdered her mother and the mother to have been a saint. Well, I can tell you that the daughter, her name was Carly, was a good friend of my Son Lachlan. Carly has been over to our place many times and was a kind gentle girl. Now, the real story is Carly was severely abused throughout her 26 years. Carly suffered mental illnesses as a result and also had ADHD, depression and much more. Because of all this Carly attracted many undesirables in her life and the wrong crowds. Carly was slipping into the deepest, darkest hole over the last couple of weeks that no one could ever have to be in, but had no one to help her. Can you imagine that if you were so far down a hole but wanted to live and needed help to climb out and the only person was the person that is suppose to protect and help you, was the underlying cause of the life you had and failed you. YOU WOULD SNAP and fall down that hole where there was no bottom Last week Corrine and I talked and we asked Carly over for dinner, suppose to have been last night. We were going to tell Carly that we were here to help and support her. We were going to ask Carly to move in to our home, look after here, get her the medical help she needed, a job and show her all the loving that a parent is suppose to give no matter what. Caitlin who is currently doing her Masters Degree in Social Work was going to be her right hand and help guide Carly. We had it all worked out as Carly had always admired the family we have and adored my son Lachlan. That was to be all done last night (saturday) but all this was stopped because Carly was shot dead by police on Friday night. For FuK sake, all she needed was someone to help her Carly, you can now rest in peace and I am so so so sorry that we didn't step in sooner, even just 2 days sooner

The point I am making is no one can say exactly how they would react in any given situation. There are so many variables like state of mind at that specific point in time. Can you truly sit back in your arm chair and judge with any certainty...I know I can't.

A person plants an IED yesterday and kills 5 Australians. The next day on his way to pick up some more IEDs to plant along the road meets up with an Australian walking along the road. The Australian says, hello, you are unarmed so on your way, and have a nice day sir. Now turn that around a bit. You are the Australian soldier walking down that street. Those 5 Australians who were killed were your mates. You meet up with that guy walking down the street...how are you going to feel, are you going to be able to hold back your angar, your emotions...or are just going to put a bullet through that bustards head. But wait, he is unarmed!!!

How many dead soldiers do we have and what happened to those that killed them, did they end up in court? War doesn't decide who wins or loses, it only decides who is left!

Just to let you know I have just updated the site and a core piece of software (PHP) on the server to the latest versions. Caitlin has currently applied for border force although she just wants a little time out first to get some life experience so she is working casual at Adairs the retail linen store.

Luckily he has already been told from a local agency that they want to talk to him after he graduates. This company doesn't normally take work experience kids but they were very impressed with his work that he had done they gave him work experience. He worked on very large clients and at the end they told him they want him to come back to them after uni so that is a possible start. His uni course also includes the promotion into internships as well. But like everything, you never know unless you try

As an update to my Son's art in the opening post I am a very proud father with Lachlan has just been offered his first choice in his VTAC University Placing. Lachlan did Year 12 VCE last year (2020) through the Covid pandemic, sat his exams and over the Christmas break he was given 3 conditional university offers including a scholarship at Monash Uni. His first choice was Bachelor of Communication Design at RMIT University and yesterday he received his first round offer of just that. So that now makes both of my kids have gone/going to University. Caitlin finished her Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice degree mid last year and now Lachlan starting uni this year. Here is his web site: https://www.lachlandesign.com.au/

We are in a similar situation. My daughter's university graduation is on the 20th Feb on the Gold Coast and couple of weeks ago we booked and paid for 5 days accommodation at a hotel for the 4 of us. We had planned to drive up to Qld from Melbourne via the Newell Hwy, cheaper than Flying being 4 of us and therefore having a car there to visit friends also in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Then the Sydney outbreak happened. Today the best case is looking like we will have to fly and hire a car, worst case is our daughter won't be able to attend her graduation ceremony and we lose a lot of money. And the bastards are still going to hold the 3rd test with a crowd of nearly 30,000 people risking the entire country of another wave just so Melbourne doesn't hold it for them.
