Monino Central Air Force Museum

It's been talked about for a while, but sadly, the Monino museum will be closing before long. Tenders have been put out for relocating the collection. It looks like most will go to the theme park, Patriot Park at Kubinka. The larger aircraft will be scrapped or at best cut up and sectioned for road transport to Kubinka. Even with relocation and reassembly, the larger aircraft will never again be intact historical aircraft. If anyone wants to see Monino in their lieftime, you would have to go soon. It's the end of an era.

 

Most will be able to be viewed at Kubinka in the future, and it may be an overall better venue, but larger examples of type might be lost. I hope not.
