    I'm getting sick of television.

Firstly, adverts. I was watching Sunrise this morning and an ad break came onn. There was a station promotion for the News, 9 (yes, nine) commercials, another station promotion for the footy tonight, then back to the program. One segment, no more than five minutes long, then another ad break. Repeat the above. Foxtel is no better.

Content. TV is definitely aimed at Gen X and millenials. Such trashy reality programs - Married at First Sight, Farmer Wants a Wife, Australian Idol, Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Australian SAS, The Block. Not entertaining or educational, all free to air. End up watching Foxtel for the umpteenth repeat of American comedies or British cops shows (Midsomer Murders, New Tricks, A Touch of Frost), or nonsense shows like Finding Bigfoot, Mountain Monsters, Paranormal caught on camera, or Car Crash TV.

Surely AI could whip up something fresh.

Be great if any writers could come up with new quality viewing without rehashing old stuff and making a dogs breakfast out of it. So many books out there would make great movie with the right team. The new Jack Reacher series is pretty spot on to the book story, and cast is fairly accurate to ones imagination of them from reading.

How things change! The first storage devices were similar in size to a LP record. Then we got 5-1/2' floppies, which were replaced by 3-1/4" floppies in a hard case. Then we got CDs and USB drives. And now it's all in the Cloud.

Twelve years ago, my wife had some professional photos done of our grandson and they were delivered on a CD. I gave it to my son yesterday and he said that he could not access them because none of his computers had a CD drive.

A disc came with my new printer I’ve just set up, if your computer is old enough to have a drive, it might not be working all that well now, with the built in made to die functions.

The Boeing "thing" is funny for a while. Those in the know saw it coming easily 6+ years ago. So easy to throw away a reputation.. People will pay money for GOOD shoes but for some reason will hunt for the Absolute cheapest airfares. Crazy.  Nev

A good fair price for a good service would be the balance we should seek, but greed and wanting to have the biggest share of market even at the expense of service( the airlines) seems to win out every time.

In the case of the Falconio murder, I was amazed that the murderer ( a guy called Murdoch ) was not "persuaded" to tell where the body was. He was as guilty as could be imagined, yet he ( so far ) has not told. Now I understand why, but I reckon it's wrong that he should be allowed to not tell.

I have read some interesting books on this case, we need to remember that this is the same state who was sure Lindy killed her daughter, they locked up a scumbag, just might not be for the crime he was accused of. There was some fairly strong evidence that mr Falconio wanted to disappear. I find the facts of the girlfriend climbing from canopy to cab of a Nissan patrol, hiding in the bushes whimpering, tied up with cable ties, smelling of fear not being found by a dog to be dodgy.

blackfellas who were brought in 24 to 48 hrs after the crime were perplexed by no bugs were interested in the blood on the road. In his job Peter had been searching for how much blood has to be found to be determined dead, prior to coming to Australia. There was also a poor bugger who sighted him at a servo a long way from the crime scene after the fact in the company of a man, not in distress and was well and truly in shock when he seen a news story about the same man afterwards.

don’t think we will ever find out what truly happened unless he turns up on his deathbed one day and admits it.

Those vehicles are old now and increasingly . If they are commercial and do more miles  they would be beyond economical operation and reliability  demands. Get the sulphur out of diesel that's the Main thing. EGR reduces fuel efficiency but cuts NOx emissions. Which do you prioritize? Maybe DPF can be added?  You won't get a full sized van down to 6 L/100 kms. The best petrol engines are diesel equal as far as fuel economy goes..  Perhaps the exhaust heat could be better utilised? Nev

I have just acquired a new 7.4m 3.3mhigh long Iveco daily with 3 litre turbo diesel to highest euro standards has Adblue and uses les fuel than my 2020 triton to cross over the range and back loaded. Was around 8Lph mark.

I found that impressive for its size and not being a slouch either.
