  1. Yup, fastest, easiest and most logical program out there and extremely underated. Solid works it may not be and ultimately there's some things it can't do, but I haven't found yet what it can't do, I designed and am having plastic 3D parts printed out - now all done in SU. Yup, one of the best things is the extensive library and plug-ins constantly being developed, there's FEA now for example, all free. Because there's so many using it, it has become like open source, the downside is there's a lot of rubbish as well and I think that's why some turn their nose up at it not looking further into it.
  2. Sorry, I thought you were being serious!
  3. I worked for Mitchells Drilliing 12 years ago on Rig 19 running around the country side drilling for cores looking for gas in coal seams, there's huges reserves of it and they know damn well it's easy to tap into, clean burning, plenty of diesel engine generator plants available, etc. so I don't know what the story is there.
  4. So you can produce the figures out of the 10 million who is a currently a practicing scientist with personal investigative results, who is even still alive and of those who even give a toss for the subject? The content of your post is beyond stupidity.
  5. Not many scientists, regardless of GW position, believe in the literal Bible. I would have thought that the Scientists on the money grab spouting unproveables are the one's with the credibility problem, not the one's who are simply saying prove it - and for free. You have all seen Gnu's "1970 predictions" post in the joke thread, I'm quite comfortable that in 2050 a "2010 predictions" post will be right there as well.
  6. Very disappointing of you FT, regardless of what you write and how you do it (that apparently irritates some), you generally stick to the subject and that's why I respond, not to or at you like some choice to do but to your subject matter and now here you are bagging out the person rather than his subject material (you must be an Australian Politician?), well you just drew the line in the sand and now it's free for all.
  7. "I don't get a rat's ass who is smart enough to be the recipients of the funding and who isn't, I only care that it's happening" Would you like it in rainbow? "I don't get a rat's ass who is smart enough to be the recipients of the funding and who isn't, I only care that it's happening"
  8. Where did I mention CSIRO, any individual or organisation anywhere? I don't get a rat's ass who is smart enough to be the recipients of the funding and who isn't, I only care that it's happening and quoting the woes of one research organisation who missed out is a non-issue and has no relevance at all. If it makes you feel better I can't get funding for my 1 meg wind turbine that costs 10% of a typical turbine to produce and, more importantly, locate, assemble and maintain either - but I'm not bitching about it, maybe because I take a teaspoon of cement with my breakfast every morning and harden up.
  9. What a coincidence, that exactly my stance about the bulk of the Science community that are rolling in it from grants to spin the case "For GW" line (notice I didn't say Pro-GW because that would be biased) - the exception being that they are on a much better wicket than he is. Exactly how has the GW affected you by the way, I mean I got a sunburned nose on the Gold Coast last year which made my case "There is no GW, we are in a natural warming cycle just look at the 600,000 years of ice drilling evidence" line a bit shaky for a couple of days, thank goodness for Aloe Vera, but what's it provably done to you?
  10. Wow Ft, you mean someone who doesn't agree with you is an idiot? I predict you're going to start a whole new Worldwide Internet trend with that revelation.
  11. Oh nose, not another GW battle ....
  12. Well that tongue in cheek backfired on me It's not perfect and it's certainly not Oz but it ain't a polluted shitehole either. More than any Western Government would like to have their populace know. Xi Jing Ping just took all Government cars off Public Servants and told them to catch a bus or train to reduce pollution and congestion.
  13. You must have the wrong China Windsor, it's a polluted shithole that only burns coal here, you only have to check the Internet for verification ....
  14. Glad you're back Nev, the forum collapsed while you were away and Jabiru sold out to Americans who are going to make them using South African labour in China if I got it right.
  15. Obviously haven't been to Asian strip joints.
  16. Oh this thread still going ... I am not anti electric this and that, I am anti bu11shite, hype and ridiculous amounts of my money going to research that hasn't gone anywhere and isn't going anywhere until someone comes up with something that we simply do not understand yet, and that usually comes by accident when looking for something else. My City of Chengdu, best known for Pandas, just up the road from my City of Deyang (I own houses and live periodically in both cities) is one of the leading vehicle environment cities in the World and has been since before I arrived here. All taxis, buses must run natural gas and motorcycles are completely banned other than electric scooters. Cars are all recent of course, Euro 4 minimum and it is 100% against the law to modify them in any way. I can sit outside at an Ex-Pat's pub at one of the cities major intersections with a major bus stop 20 meters away with one stopping less than every minute, and talk to people in complete peace without smelling exhaust fumes, listening to loud sports bikes, Harleys or idiots in their turbo Nissan/Subaru/POS. The biggest danger is stepping in front of an electric scooter because they are dead silent and you don't hear them coming. I agree that the pollution is merely moved elsewhere but isn't it better that kids can walk a city street without breathing immediate condensed crap into their lungs. In the last couple of years there has been a huge surge in tiny electric cars, think of a Smart but smaller again, and along with all the millions of electric scooters, their is no registration required as long as it goes no faster than 40kmh. - imagine the Australian Government letting any unregistered vehicle on the road.
  17. You 2 can not be serious. Do you 2 not read the news? Abbott is cutting the near 6 BILLION dollars a year in grants directly related to research and devlopment of GW to a measly 1/2 BILLION and the GW proponents are up in arms about it. It was on the news in China FFS. But then again, we don't get footy, cricket or Home and Away here so I understand why you might have missed it.
  18. I have no idea what you are talking about, which makes 2 of us. Did you know my city is one of the Worlds biggest producer of wind turbines, don't know how that fits in here but it's true. http://en.dfem.com.cn/
  19. One article full of "could, likely, live science, predictions" etc written by a pro GW reporter who lists all others as "sceptics" and "denialists" etc, makes for fact does it? This asshole even uses the word Nazi in the report. Just browse through his other articles to immediately see his constant use of put down power words. And right there is something that shits me about this whole thing, there is no debate, if you don't agree then you are a sceptic, denialist, environmental vandal, etc - any description that is a put down while the fors are "Pro GW" - Pro being an assertive positive word. Similar to the favoured words and tactics by Politicians in many arenas of biased discussion.
  20. 400,000 to 600,000 years of ice drilling evidence beats 40 to 60 years. Give the same scientists a few million with the promise of continued funding and they'll prove anything you want them too, they are whores.
  21. The Polar Ice Caps are currently increasing in size and have been doing so for a while - and it's been pissing off the GW radicals that they have been doing so
  22. Just thieves, the old guard controlling the "system"coal and oil companies make them rich and no one can stop them. Hanson made inroads and ended up in jail, not interested in the left and right wing arguments surrounding that, I am talking from a pure power gain threat POV, and she was a threat. They can certainly help but don't lose sight of those solar panels and renewables are made from and with oil and coal. I have said it here before, I don't care what you think about China, Commies etc, the fact is that people's ability to exist here comes first; water, gas and power is dirt, dirt cheap for everybody as well as rice and eggs. I was never able to fathom why Oz can't do the same and simply increase taxes on everything else to address the balance and give people the choice what they spend their money on - they are going to spend it anyway, that's a given, and exactly the same amount of tax can be recovered. Privatisation of services has F'd Oz, they are essential services and should never leave the hands of the people. Plenty of land here FT and it ain't polluted - I've had soil tests done for each block we have developed and am about to do more in a few months for the next development, I'll track it if you like and I'll even send the samples to Oz so you can do it. If you like, happy to send a bag of local rice so you can get it tested (Oz rice is much nicer than Chinese rice btw). Of course if you are that concerned about it, stop buying Chinese products, restart manufacturing in Oz then with less manufacturing in China you will have less to be concerned about.
  23. Yeah, worth $100, I'll be there tomorrow to pick it up ..... Seriously, was worth about $2000 a few years back to the Vintage MX crowd in Oz, not sure if up or down now. The Japanese want the old Superbikes, anything 1960's or SR500 Yamahas - they still make brand new SR400s unchanged from the 70's except for a front disc and now EFI, there's a huge cult following for them in Japan.
  24. Worth about $4000 to Japan in it's current state.
