  1. You'd stop the housing price rise in a heartbeat by stopping mass immigration. Keeping the population count stable should be a priority. Demand for goods and services is kept artificially high by continually increasing population. It's all going to end in tears....

  2. I was in Europe recently and sitting on 140kph, along with a bunch of other blokes, on a motorway perfectly legal and law abiding. If I did the same thing here I would be labeled "Child Killer" and probably thrown in jail. Literally... Still "Australian Conditions " of course says it all............................I bet Bronwyn gets away with it , same as all the drunken cops that got slapped on theirs legs....

  3. This is a bit out of left field, but I'm looking for.....4 of, double split shaft collars , steel., 35mm i.d...... Anybody know of a source (in this country) They are to help fitting a Steib Sidecar to a Vincent Shadow......I know, I know, it's not an aeroplane. But there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site....And I don't really have the time to make them....Geoff

  4. [quote="then you get sick and have to go to the doctor - $7 - then you need an X-ray and blood test - another $14... then a return visit the next week - $7 -" ............................... Yes, I see ......it maybe to much of a burden, but were there not safeguards as to the maximum payable, and exemptions for some? I'm just saying that "Some Places" do it a lot tougher than here.....

  5. QUOTE " Charging poor people $7 to see a doctor? Glad that's blocked too "........................ That's really funny for in Holland you pay 8 Euro extra at the Pharmacy for the explanation of how to use the prescription...I thought that 7 bucks (extra) was a bargain. My "co-payment" these days is $37 what's another $7 on top?

  6. I notice that some posters get a bit uppity when faced with a possibly inappropriate "funny" or "optimistic" ect; but not all of us take life so very seriously. Some posts strike me as funny, or at least, amusing when they are obviously not intended to be so....But a misspelling or grammatical error just takes the wind out of their sails. I just sit here and read, laugh and comment as I see fit. I wouldn't like to see that change, it's a place of great amusement as well as an informative Forum....Carry on. Please

  7. Goodness, I don't know what you've been reading! As far as the Sphinx is concerned it is believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom during the reign of the Pharaoh Khafra approximately 2558–2532 BC ( add to that the 2014 years A.D. ) and you have and age of 4500 years. Amazing feat nevertheless. But NOT 15000 years.....Brain Surgery? None, of course ! Except if you include pulling the brain out through the nose in the mummification process....That could be called Brain Surgery, maybe ask your friend Van Daniken, his brain was almost certainly remove the same way..............Chris Dunn, another nutcase, has the theory that the Egyptians had access to ultrasonic work tools. Unfortunately, for his theory, not one trace or record of anything like he describes remains.

Oh My, I have wasted far too much time on your nonsense, Life's too short................................

  8. ANYBODY that truly believes that man walked ( or more realistically, ran) with dinosaurs should give me a call. I have this really nice bridge that I want to sell cheap! And , as an aside, The term "Terrible Lizard " was coined only very recently....Like the 18th Century, NOT the 20,000th century BC. (Before Cars)

  9. Rupert Sheldrake looks/sounds (to me) to be a little like that Erich van Daniken chappie who created a furor (created being the operative word) with his quasi-scientific novel "Chariots of the Gods?) .............. Onto the video posted by Dear Old Koreelah ......................I heard Sheldrake ridiculing 10 scientific Dogma. One of them, "The speed of light is constant" was being made fun of ( watch a little of the video to see the true definition of a smart arse) I was puzzled as I had not heard that. After reading a bit I see a couple of scientists believe that the speed does vary (according to the purity? of the vacuum in which it travels) The speed variation is quite small ( a noventillionth of a meter per second I believe- or 10 to the power of 54!) . You would think from the ridiculing given to the scientist to whom Sheldrake is speaking that the variation is in the order of several hundred miles an hour, after that bit I stopped watching. If you have to watch that to feel good in your skin then you are indeed in a bad way......Watch Richard Dawkins and see some brainwashed individuals attempt to talk down his speeches................................

  10. Is someone proposing that Darwin's Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection has been disproven?.......Or am I in the Westboro' church website?.........................Listening to either one would be an incredibly stupid proposition (and on a par with each other) .....

  11. I agree that solar is lovely............ BUT without support it still does not work....You have to have that "fill-in" for non sunny times .(Melb. Av. 3 hours sunlight per day in July) ..I personally don't use much power during daylight hours..I will reiterate! ..Stand alone Solar does not work! You must use the necessary back up and it will. Now that, at the moment is coal fired power stations....

  12. I lived in Holland for 14 years, where cyclists and cars get on quite well together (cyclists have insurance and a tiny number plate @ buggerall per annum) BUT , all motorists have been cyclists (and moped riders) first.....so they automatically have some empathy for the other....Car drivers need to get some perspective and give the two wheelers room.............
